AXOLOTL
Ambystoma Mexicanum
Family Ambystomatidae.
Common & AZTEC name for a salamander previously found in several lakes in the Valley of
Mexico, but currently found only in Lake Xochimilco near Mexico City.
They can grow to 10 to 12 in long.
Best food in captivity is Insects and Larvae, such as Bloodworms
Not Picky about food, Quality Sinking Food or Pellets, (SERA� O-Nips).
Attains sexual maturity and reproduces in the larval stage.
Axolotls retain their gills and finned tails,throughout their lifetime.
